Senior Software Engineer

Reports to: Director, Engineering
Job location: 2101 Gaither Road, Suite 400, Rockville, MD 20850
Responsibilities:
Drawing on knowledge of Cognos 8.X version, Unix (Linux), Windows operating systems, Oracle, SQL, designs enterprise and departmental-level systems, working with end users and product management to obtain and refine requirements and generates technical requirements for other team members to perform the following duties: Programs and performs other implementation tasks as needed, providing key technical expertise. Emphasizing Cognos skills, provide day-to-day engineering support to operations. Supports the product manager in identifying and providing necessary training regarding software updates. Estimates the feasibility and impact of change requests. Monitors and reports on project schedules, resource issues, constraints, and problems. May telecommute to Rockville, MD.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology plus five years of experience reflecting demonstrable ability in the skill set described above or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology plus two years of experience reflecting demonstrable ability in the skill set described above
